FEATURES OF DEVELOPING A CREATIVE BUSINESS PRODUCT: A CASE STUDY OF A DESIGN PRODUCT
Neringa Grigariene, Virginija Jureniene

ABSTRACT: In today’s society, the term design is multifaceted and only stands for the creation of industrial objects assessing the technological production process or aesthetic features. Design is a creative industry where culture is a symbol of social activities, and industry is a system of production, distribution and marketing that provides the consumer with design products, i.e., goods of experience that not only form the environment for a person but also reveal features of a certain period of time or area. In many countries, design is emphasised as a promising strategy for innovative solutions and products that assist in understanding consumer needs. There is a tendency that the design determines the decision of whether to buy the product or not; thus, it is very important to create a model of a designed product that would make its entry into the art market easier. Scientific problem: What are the features of creative business product development? In order to reveal the problem, the work analyses the features of wider product understanding, consumer response to product form and design research models; the principles of design product development are provided and the theoretical design product development model has been applied during the implementation of the project Baltų raštai keramikoje: iš praeities į ateitį (En. Baltic Patterns in Ceramics: from the Past to the Future) when a contemporary black ceramics line with Baltic patterns was created with the intention to adapt it to interior emphasising that art must be consumed.
