Daniel Manate, Ramona Lile, Dana Rad, Silviu-Gabriel Szentesi , Lavinia Denisia Cuc

ABSTRACT: Globally, it exists a rising desire for decarbonization of the building industry by speeding the progress of green buildings and smart cities that are focused on smart green buildings. Using a structured interview, 30 replies from real estate developers and consultants were assessed. The main objective was to determine the degree of association between respondents’ knowledge of the concepts of green buildings, smart green buildings, and green retrofits and the literature review-derived variables. It was found that with the increasing familiarity with the concepts of green buildings, smart green and green retrofitting, the easier sale and the lower rate of additional expenses are seen as more important factors in making the decision to develop a green project. The study provides a very valuable first impression based on the research conclusions that can guide future topic research.
