Zuzana Virglerova, Tomas Kliestik, Zuzana Rowland, Zoltan Rozsa

ABSTRACT. The main objective of the article is to present new scientific findings in the field of SMEs internationalization in V4 countries. Within the defined objective, the impacts of individual barriers to SMEs internationalization on the perception of further existence of an enterprise have been quantified. The empirical research in the area of SMEs was conducted between October 2019 and April 2020 in the V4 countries (the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary) by means of an online questionnaire survey. The data obtained were processed using regression analysis. The enterprises that are able to manage export risks appropriately are likely to be more successful in the market. It results from the research that the influence of potentially higher costs of SMEs activities internationalization or the differences in the legislative environment, tax policy, as well as language and cultural differences do not represent an obstacle to the SMEs' activities internationalization in the V4 countries .
