HOW MUCH ELECTRICITY WILL BE CONSUMED IN 2020 UNDER THE NEW NORMAL ECONOMY IN CHINA?
Qingyou Yan, Wenhua Zhang, Jiahai Yuan, Tomas Balezentis, Yong Zhang

ABSTRACT. With the slowdown of China's economic growth, China's economy has entered a new normal economy period. The growth rate of electricity consumption which is highly related to economic growth increased rapidly after reaching the lowest level in 2015 showed a development trend that does not match with economic development. In order to further analyse the sustainability of this trend and predict the level of electricity consumption in 2020, this paper first predicted the development trend through industry analysis and then used the multiple regression model to forecast electricity consumption in 2020 from the provincial level. Finally, some policy suggestions are put forward according to the results of the analysis.
