EASTERN PARTNERSHIP AND PLACE OF POLAND IN THE DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION

ABSTRACT. In 2009, the Eastern Partnership was launched in order to build a closer relationship between Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine and the European Union. The initiators of the initiative were Poland and Sweden. The general idea of the Eastern Partnership was to increase the development processes in the region by a closer political and economic bound with the European Union. The most urgent needs which were regarded depended on achieving such principles as democracy, good governance, better border management, agricultural and rural improvement, and the strengthening of entrepreneurship. The article introduces the idea of the Eastern Partnership, its origins with a special focuses of Polish engagement in the project .
