ABSTRACT. The general objective of the article is to formulate and provide empirical arguments regarding the existence of the correlation between the levels of economic development measured by GDP/capita, and culture (described through the six cultural dimensions of Hofstede) within the 26 European and Asian countries included in the analysis. The analysis has revealed that there are interaction effects between the two categories of indexes. Cultural diversity has, therefore, an impact on the entrepreneurial activity representing a determining factor in this field of the article. For the most part, the obtained results are based on the results of present literature existing on the subject. It is possible to notice differences between the two for the existing correlations between the cultural dimension 's individualism and masculinity and the index Number of registered businesses. In this case, the obtained results are different from those anticipated in the working hypothesis .
