SPECIFICITIES OF THE VALUATION MISSIONS OF PLANT AND MACHINERY IN ROMANIA
Sorin Adrian Achim

ABSTRACT.The plant and machinery valuation market has national specificities that have to be assessed if the international rules have to be established in order to insure comparison. The present study assesses the factors that influence the choice of the valuer in respect of the type of method used as initial benchmark and the way in which the final value is estimated through Binary and Multinomial Logit models. The results show that the valuer's experience and factors related to the frequency of use of the positively valued mobile goods influence the probability of choosing the market value both initially and as a final estimated value. The choice of cost is not influenced by any of the factors. Additionally, this method is in the last place when analysed as a choice for establishing the final value. The valuers prefer to base their reports on the sales comparison method, either alone or by averaging it with the cost.
