INNOVATIONS IN SOLVING EUROZONE CRISIS: REVIEW OF SOME UNCONVENTIONAL PROPOSALS
Marta Gotz

ABSTRACT.This paper offers a compilation of selected innovative measures proposed as solutions for the challenges faced by EMU (European Monetary Union). It might be regarded as an attempt to chart part of the myriad of nonstandard remedies. It covers proposals submitted in 2011 - 2014 and seeks to evaluate their potential to address selected facets of the euro crisis. The framework for comparison has been designed with reference to identified challenges arising from the crisis. This paper seeks to evaluate what impact the alternative solutions might have on the fiscal stability, financial sustainability, and economic growth. The heterogeneous group is tough to be assessed by uniform criteria; therefore, the presented review should be regarded more in terms of a synopsis than precise evaluation. The main value added of the conducted survey may lie in compiling dispersed alternative proposals, outlining their main premises, and undertaking an attempt to evaluate them in a coherent method. .

KEYWORDS: Eurozone crisis, unconventional remedies, governance, financial sustainability, fiscal stability.
