Financial Effects of the Energy Companies Using CSR

ABSTRACT. In the paper author wanted to present the financial situation in the energy companies in Poland using CSR. First of all definitions of energy enterprises and meaning of Corporate Social Responsibility in energy sector were presented. Then the methodology of analysis of economic benefits comes from CSR in Polish enterprises. Finally survey was conducted on the two biggest capital groups PGE and Tauron which prosper in Poland. These groups like most of participants in that sector are using Corporate Social Responsibility. There is a perception that the companies are afraid of using CSR because of high cost and low profits of this activity. Research results which were presented in the article show completely different findings that refer to energy sector. PGE and Tauron are companies, which apply CSR in their activities and have financial benefits.
