Ramunas Casas, Monika Kavaliauske, Vilma Dambrauskaite

ABSTRACT. This article examines the external business factors that are promoting entrepreneurship and have an impact on the emergence of modern global enterprises, also known as “Born Global”. It was already determined that the main elements differentiating “Born Global” companies from any others are the rapid internationalization, innovativeness and entrepreneurship of the managers. Therefore, in this article the external business conditions favorable for the entrepreneurship of “Born Global” companies were investigated. Theoretical analysis of the model enabled us to distinguish 28 factors as potentially influencing the entrepreneurship of the “Born Global” companies. Fifty “Born Global” companies were surveyed in Lithuania and it was determined that almost all external business factors, that were considered in theoretical framework as promoting entrepreneurship, really promote the entrepreneurship in Lithuania. However, the external business environment in Lithuania can be characterized only by 3 external business environment factors, promoting the entrepreneurship of the Lithuanian “Born Global” companies.

KEYWORDS: “Born Global” companies, entrepreneurship, external business environment, internationalization.
