Perceptions of Thai Employees Toward Chinese Managers’ Management Practices in Bangkok
Chanchai Bunchapattanasakda, Pisit Wong

ABSTRACT. This study investigated Thai employees’ perceptions of Chinese managers working in Chinese multinational companies operated in Thailand. The study analyzed the national characteristics of Thai and Chinese based on Hofstede’s cultural dimensions, Chinese human resource management approaches, and Thai and Chinese social concepts. The results revealed that Chinese managers applied their culture in human resource management practice rather than adapting themselves to the Thai culture. However, the Thai employees are satisfied working with the Chinese managers and believe that the managers could be able to lead their firms to be leaders in the industries.
