Expression of Organisational Commitment among the Academic Staff

ABSTRACT. The article deals with the concept of affective organisational commitment. The research problem is expressed in the following questions: What characteristics are peculiar to the phenomenon of organisational commitment? What factors would ensure development of organisational commitment among the academic staff? In the theoretical part of the article, the concept of the organisational commitment is analysed and a model of affective commitment structure is presented. The employed research methods were the following: data collection performed by survey performance using the non-standard open-ended questionnaire and for data analysis was chosen the qualitative content analysis. In the empirical part the data is analysed and tendencies are presented. The factors that ensure development of organisational commitment among the academic staff members are defined as opportunities for the professional development and career, god and democratic social climate, active involvement in the organisational activities, entrusted responsibility as appreciation.
